About the Artist
I began my search for the "perfect baby doll" a few
months before my daughter's first birthday, in February of 2002. I
began on the doll sites, and found many pretty dolls, but none that
actually looked like a real baby. I so wanted to recreate for eternity
that special look of my newborn baby, as she was starting to grow into a
little girl.
In my search, I came across "reborn" dolls on Ebay
and was amazed by the quality and realism that some of the better
artists were able to achieve. None of them looked quite like my
daughter, however, so I decided to attempt to make a baby myself. And I
haven't stopped since...
I have been painting for over 12 years now, and have
found that I can draw on this experience when creating my babies,
enabling me to create lifelike coloring, highlights, and shading.
Making these babies that are cherished all around the
world is such a rewarding and enjoyable thing to be able to do. It has
allowed me to be a stay-at-home Mom to my two darling girls, which
has always been my dream.
